Paul Gibson

Paul Edward Gibson of Farmington entered eternal rest at his home, surrounded by family, on August 12, 2025, at the age of 97. He was born in Viburnum, Missouri, to the late Paul Gibson and Alta (Ogle) Gibson.
 
Paul is survived by his children, James Gibson (Lorraine), Connie Scott (Gary), Brenda Long, and Mark Gibson (Helen); his grandchildren, Todd, Patricia, Doug, Tesha, Cody, and Wendy; his great-grandchildren, Alexis, Tatum, Torin, Sebastian, Silas, Landon, Ampriaige, Blane, Carbon, Blake, Karlee, and Paisley; and his sisters-in-law, Janelle Gibson and Emma Lashley (Frank).
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bonnie (Jarvis) Gibson; his daughter, Phyllis Gibson; his grandchildren, Bradley Gibson and Daniel Evans; his brothers, Bill Gibson (Rosemary) and Gary Gibson; his sister, Deloris Stites (Lane); and his son-in-law, Paul Long.
 
Paul spent over 20 years employed at Mayrose Packing Company in St. Louis. He later worked nearly three decades as a lead miner for Doe Run Lead Company, where he earned the respect of his colleagues for his dedication and work ethic. A lifelong member of Lebanon Masonic Lodge #77 for 63 years, he upheld strong values of integrity, brotherhood, and service to others.
 
He found great joy in the simple moments of life, especially in time spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved being outdoors and took great pleasure in hunting, fishing, and woodworking.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Viburnum Baptist Cemetery in Viburnum.
