Windy married the love of his life Joette on February 11, 1961. They have two daughters, Angie and Jill.

Windy's work ethic continued through his life having several jobs before starting his career in the car business. In the early 1960’s, he worked for Lee Bollinger at Bollinger Oldsmobile. He continued at Frank Dryers Pontiac Cadillac, then Superior Pontiac Cadillac. He eventually opened his own business, Ozark Auto Sales in Leadington, Mo.
Windy enjoyed his retirement taking and annual snow mobile trips with his brother, Paul, and their cousins. He also enjoyed line dancing with Joette, where they made many friends. Windy enjoyed dirt track racing, which he supported locally. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him
