St. Louis, Mo. (KFMO) - The St. Louis Cardinals creeped a little closer to .500 over the weekend, taking two of three from NL Central rivals Milwaukee.
On Friday, the Cardinals held off the Brewers 3-2, picking up their runs in the middle innings and then holding off the Brewers late. The next day, the Cardinals again picked up a 1-run win, defeating the Brewers 6-5. However, the Brewers got one back on St. Louis on Sunday, leaving Busch Stadium with a 7-1 victory to end the series.
The Cardinals are 12-16 for the season. They'll start this week on the road at Cincinnati before coming back home this weekend for a series with the New York Mets.
