County Auditors' Office Continues Work on Budget

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - The St. Francois County Auditor's Office continues its work on the county's budget for the current year, as well as the next fiscal year.

Louie Sieberlich, St. Francois County Auditor, sat down with KFMO to explain his office's work and what they do on a day-to-day basis. He says part of building the next year's budget is guesswork, and meeting with department heads to seek clarification on their plans for spending.

Once complete, the budget then goes in front of the county commission for further adjustments and approval. Sieberlich says the current county government has taken a more methodical approach to its operations.

Sieberlich was appointed St. Francois County Auditor in 2017 by former Governor Eric Greitens following the resignation of the previous auditor. He was then elected to the position in 2018 and reelected in 2022.

The current St. Francois County budget can be found online at the county's website, sfcgov.org.
