Farmington Opening Cooling Centers Until End of Head Advisory

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The City of Farmington is providing cooling centers to citizens needing relief, as the Parkland area rides out the rest of the current heat wave.

Farmington, like much of the area, is under a heat advisory through Wednesday, July 30. Heat index values are expected to climb above 100 degrees both Tuesday and Wednesday. To combat the heat, the city is opening cooling centers at the following locations; Farmington City Hall, City Light & Water, the Farmington Civic Center, the Farmington Police Department, and the Farmington Fire Department.

The Public Library, which would normally open as a cooling center, is currently closed for cleaning and will not be available. For specific hours at each location, visit the City of Farmington Facebook page. Lower temperatures are expected on Thursday.
