If Approved Grant Would See More Officers Patrol Highway 67

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - More Deputies from the St. Francois County Sheriff's Department could be patrolling Highway 67 for hazardous moving violations.

St. Francois County Sheriff, Jeff Crites, says they've applied for a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation that would help pay for the effort.

According to Crites, hazardous moving violations include speeding, not using a signal when you change lanes, following too closely, and not stopping at stop signs. He explains they're expecting word anytime on whether or not the grant is approved.
