St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A collision involving a pickup truck and an ATV on Saturday night at Lake Timberline in St. Francois County left a juvenile seriously injured.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 10 p.m. on July 5 at the intersection of Wright Drive and Wood Hill Drive, a private road within the Lake Timberline community.
Troopers say a 2012 Ford F-150, driven by a 51-year-old woman from De Soto, was stopped at a stop sign on Wright Drive, preparing to turn left onto eastbound Wood Hill Drive. As the truck began the turn, it moved into the path of a westbound 2015 four-wheeler ATV, resulting in a collision. The front of the ATV struck the side of the truck, causing the ATV to overturn and eject both of its occupants.
A 17-year-old female passenger from Bonne Terre sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Parkland Health Center in Bonne Terre. She was reportedly not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash. The ATV driver, a 51-year-old man from Wildwood, was not reported injured but was not wearing a safety device either.
The ATV was totaled and towed from the scene. The truck sustained moderate damage and was driven away.
