MAC Opens New Museum Showcasing College and Community History

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - Mineral Area College has opened a new space on the second floor of its library dedicated to preserving and sharing local history.

The MAC Museum: College & Community History will highlight the story of Flat River Junior College, MAC, as well as the surrounding communities. The museum’s first six-month exhibit, running through January 2026, features two rare bronze jardinieres crafted in Berlin, Germany, for the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair. After decades hidden on a local farm, the pieces were restored and are now on loan from Gene and Annette Fritsche of Park Hills.

History department coordinator Rodney Wilson, with instructor Colton Adkisson and support from Provost Dr. Keith Zoromski, is leading the project. The museum is open whenever the campus is open, and donations of college or local historical items are welcome.
