Governor Calls Special Session on Congressional Maps, Initiative Petition Process

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - Governor Mike Kehoe announced Friday he has issued a proclamation to convene the Missouri General Assembly for a special session to address updated congressional districts and the state’s initiative petition process.

Kehoe unveiled the “Missouri First Map,” a more compact and contiguous proposal developed by his team to be considered by lawmakers.

The governor’s call also includes legislation to amend the state’s initiative petition process. Lawmakers will convene for the Second Extraordinary Session of the First Regular Session on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at noon in Jefferson City.
