Missouri Issues Updated COVID-19 Vaccine Guidelines for Fall

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - Missouri health officials have released updated COVID-19 vaccination guidelines for the fall, which differ in some areas from federal recommendations.

Under the state’s guidelines, anyone age 65 and older is eligible for the vaccine. However, residents between six months and 64 years old must have an underlying medical condition to qualify. State health leaders advise those who do not meet the criteria to consult their physician about individual eligibility and next steps.

The new guidelines are part of Missouri’s effort to target those most vulnerable to severe illness as COVID-19 cases continue to fluctuate across the state.
