More Than 200,000 Voter Registrations Removed in Missouri in 2025

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - More than 200,000 names have been removed from Missouri’s voter rolls so far this year as part of efforts to maintain election integrity, according to Secretary of State Denny Hoskins.

The removals included over 18,000 deceased voters, more than 2,000 convicted felons, non-U.S. citizens, and individuals no longer eligible to vote in the state. Hoskins said his office has worked with local election authorities and federal immigration officials to identify and remove ineligible voters, including a case where an illegal immigrant cast a ballot in the November 2024 general election. That individual is now facing deportation. A large number of removed names were people who moved out of Missouri but never canceled their state voter registration.

Hoskins emphasized that clearing these records helps prevent double voting between states during the same election.
