Park Hills Man Arrested After Fleeing Traffic Stop, Found with Suspected Meth

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A routine traffic stop late Monday night in St. Francois County led to the arrest of a rural Park Hills man after authorities say he tried to run from a deputy and was found with suspected methamphetamine.

According to the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around 11:50 p.m. on August 11, 2025, when a deputy pulled over a motorcycle for a minor traffic violation on Flat River Drive near the Highway 32 entrance ramp. The driver was identified as Charles “Chuck” Ramsey, who the deputy learned had a suspended driver’s license.

The deputy informed Ramsey he would be taken to jail to be booked and released without bond. When the deputy attempted to place him in handcuffs, Ramsey allegedly pulled away, shoved the deputy, and fled on foot. After repeated commands to stop, the deputy used less-than-lethal measures to subdue Ramsey, who was then taken into custody without further incident. A search of Ramsey reportedly uncovered a plastic bag containing a large quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine.

St. Francois County EMS evaluated Ramsey at the scene, but he declined medical treatment. Ramsey was transported to the St. Francois County Detention Center and faces charges of Driving While Suspended, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Felony Resisting Arrest.
