Potosi Man Injured in I-55 Crash in Ste. Genevieve County

Ste. Genevieve Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A Potosi man was hurt in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Interstate 55 in Ste. Genevieve County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 6:45 a.m. at mile marker 141. Troopers say a 2006 Hyundai Elantra driven by a  24-year-old man from Potosi struck the rear of a southbound 2014 Peterbilt truck driven by a 67-year-old man from Ste. Genevieve. The Elantra sustained total damage and was towed from the scene.

The Potosi driver suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South. The truck driver was not reported injured.
