Richwoods Woman Injured in Jefferson County Crash After Swerving to Avoid Animal

Jefferson Co., M. (KFMO) - A Richwoods woman was injured Saturday evening in a crash on Route C in Jefferson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 5:45 p.m. on southbound Route C, just north of Grandview School Road. Troopers saye a 44-year-old man, also of Richwoods, was driving a 2015 Ford Escape when he swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, struck an embankment, became airborne, and landed overturned on its passenger side.

The 41-year-old passenger, suffered moderate injuries in the crash. She was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South for treatment.

The Ford Escape was totaled and towed from the scene. Both the driver and passenger were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
