St. Francois County Memorial Day Ceremony at Courthouse

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The St. Francois County Memorial Day Ceremony this coming Monday will be held at the St. Francois County Courthouse.

St. Francois County Sheriff, Jeff Crites says he invites everyone to be at the event and honor our veterans.

According to Crites the program begins at 11 a.m. The featured speaker for the event will be Greg Doolin of "Remember 13," a St. Louis nonprofit founded by the parents of Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz. In 2021, Schmitz and 12 other soldiers were killed in a suicide bombing at Hamid Karzai Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan during the American pull out from the Bagram Airbase.

With the forecast predicting rain Crites reminds you the ceremony will be moved indoors.

Parking is available in the County Annex Building parking lot.
