Tornado Strikes Near Des Arc— EF2 Damage Reported

Des Arc, Mo. (KFMO) - A tornado touched down near Des Arc, on Friday, May 16, bringing significant damage to the area.

The storm was rated an EF2, with estimated wind speeds reaching up to 115 miles per hour. The tornado’s path was at least 3.25 miles long and approximately 150 yards wide. Notably, some of the damage occurred to structures that had already been impacted by a previous tornado on March 14. Authorities are conducting further analysis to determine whether the tornado continued beyond the initially identified path to the east.

Local emergency officials urge residents to stay alert as cleanup and recovery efforts continue.
