Jefferson Co., Mo. (KFMO) - Two people were taken to the hospital following a three-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Jefferson County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:45 p.m. on westbound Route A at Frontier Road.
Authorities say a 16-year-old female driver from Festus was stopped at the stop sign at Old Highway A and Route A in a 2021 Nissan Kicks when she pulled into the path of a westbound 2021 Audi Q3, driven by a 65-year-old woman from Hillsboro. The front of the Audi struck the driver’s side of the Nissan, causing the Nissan to spin counterclockwise and cross the center of the roadway. The Audi then skidded and collided with the front of an eastbound 2014 Dodge Ram 1500, which had been stopped in the left turn lane. The 65-year-old Audi driver sustained minor injuries and an 89-year-old male passenger in her vehicle suffered moderate injuries. Both were transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South for treatment.
All three vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene. The drivers involved were wearing seatbelts, according to the crash report.
