Two Seriously Injured in Perry County Accident

(Perry Co., MO) A Perryville woman and a Fredericktown man are recovering from serious injuries following a motor vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon in Perry County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a SUV, driven by 62 year old Mary K. Douglas, of Perryville, was traveling south and a car, driven by 30 year old Dakota S. Queen, of Fredericktown, was traveling north on Highway 51, near the Air Evac Base, in Perry County, at 12:04 p.m. when the accident occurred. Douglas failed to maintain a single lane and crossed the center line. Queen attempted to avoid Douglas’ SUV by traveling off the right side of the roadway, however the front of the SUV struck the front of the car.

Both were flown to Mercy St. Louis University Hospital for treatment. Both were also wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. Both vehicles were listed as totaled.
